Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: Rabbit Creek View & Heights, Block 8H, Lot 21A Well and Septic System Permit Request Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a permit to install a well and septic system be issued for this property. The proposed systems will serve proposed three bedroom (3) bedroom house. Currently the lot is undeveloped. The proposed system will utilize a 10008 septic tank with a conventional septic system. The surrounding lots are a mix of developed and undeveloped. The surrounding lots are served by private wells and all are 100'+ from the proposed septic. Soils. Two test holes were performed by Pannone Engineering Services in July of 2014 and lune 2017, and groundwater was monitored for both in October 2018. Ground water was observed at five and three quarter feet (5.75) below the ground surface after the seven day monitoring period. It is my opinion, based on the results of the percolation tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 0.4 gallons/day/square feet should be used for a conventional bed system. 1. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 2 of the design package. 2. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and drain field. The proposed drain field upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 3. Topography: The existing topography slopes from the southwest to the northeast at approximately 08% in the area of the proposed drain field. There are no steep slopes in the vicinity of the drain field. The proposed installation will not affect the future development of the surrounding or existing lots. The proposed systems will serve proposed three bedroom (4) bedroom house. Currently the lot is undeveloped. The proposed system will utilize a 1250g septic tank with a conventional septic system. The surrounding lots are a mix of developed and undeveloped. The surrounding lots are served by private wells and all are 100'+ from the proposed septic. Soils. One test hole was performed by Pannone Engineering Services in July of 2014, and groundwater was monitored for seven days. Ground water was observed at four and a quarter feet {4.25) below the ground surface after the seven day monitoring period. It is my opinion, based o_n the results of the percolation tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/square feet should be used for a conventional system. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 2 of the design package. 2. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and drain field. The proposed drain field upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 3. Topography: The existing topography slopes from the south to the north at approximately 14% in the area of the proposed drain field. There are no steep slopes in the vicinity of the drain field. 4. Drawing Markings: The Drawings are marked "For MoA Review Only".
