Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: Southfork North, Block 4, Lot 9 Well and Septic System Permit Request Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a permit to install a new well and septic system be issued for this property. The proposed systems will serve a proposed three (3) bedroom hose. Currently the lot is undeveloped. The proposed system will utilize a 1250g S.T.E.P. tank with a conventional drain field. The surrounding developed lots are served by private wells. There are no wells on surrounding lots within 100 feet of this system and there are no septic systems installed on the surrounding lots within 100 feet of the proposed well. Soils. One test hole was performed by Michael E. Anderson in October of 2014, and groundwater was monitored for at least seven days. Ground water was not observed to 11.0' below the surface in the test - hole monitor tubes in April of 2015. Bedrock was not encountered in the test hole. It is my opinion, based on the results of the percolation tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/square feet should be used for a conventional wastewater system in the area of these test hole. 1. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 2 of the design package. 2. Surface Water: The ditch that the Municipality had previously installed outside of the drainage easement and on the subject lot has been filled and no surface water remains within 100' of the proposed system. There is no surface water within 100' of the proposed system. 3. Topography: The existing topography in the area of the proposed drain field slopes from east to west at approximately 20%-25%, with no slopes over 25% within 50' of the proposed drain field.
