required down slope from the trenches to provide the necessary separation. The new
trench will be constructed parallel with the contours of the slope as much as possible in
conformance with Municipal requirements. The new septic system will be constructed a
minimum of 100' from all wells and any surface water and 10' from the proposed and
existing water services in the area.
If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements
apply:
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells
in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing
septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve
space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on drainage
patterns in the area. The current drainage pattern will be maintained.

Absorption Trench to Excessive Slope
Dear On Site Services Engineer:
Surface area available on the subject lot for placement of a septic system is limited by
the location of the well and the placement of the house. In addition the surface slopes
on the lot vary from 25% to 35%. A waiver is therefore necessary to allow the new
absorption trench and alternate site to be constructed within 50' of a break in grade
greater than 25%. Both trenches are located on an approximate 33% slope. Fill will be
required to prevent the imaginary 25% slope from the edge of the absorption trench
from daylighting less than 35' down slope from the trench.
The accepting soil at the absorption system locations is silty gravel with percolation
rates less than 5 minutes per inch. Little or no migration of effluent is expected. We
therefore request the primary absorption trench and alternate site be constructed on a
slope at or more than 25%.
