Engineer needs to do an additional percolation test prior to the construction of the septic field.
Please submit stamped and signed results with the As -built Inspection Report. If the results
require a design change, construction of the system will stop pending On -Site review and approval.

2. The Engineer needs to do an additional test hole for the alternate site prior to the construction of
the septic field. Construction may proceed at your own risk before the 7 day water monitoring is
complete. Please submit stamped and signed results with the As -built Inspection Report. If the

approval.
3. Prior to inspection report approval, the pump install log and water samples are to be submitted
for review.

Septic System Design and Permit Application
Impacts to Adjacent Properties
Dear Onsite Services Engineer:
The owner of Lot 5, Raptors Knoll Subdivision intends to construct a new six -bedroom
home on the lot. We are therefore requesting a permit be issued for the construction of
a new septic system to accommodate the home. The attached Site Plan and backup
documentation identify the location and configuration of the existing well and proposed
septic system along with the alternate site. Also identified on the plans are the existing
wells in the area and septic systems on surrounding lots. No conflicts exist between the
proposed septic system and well or septic systems and wells on adjacent lots.
Drainage arrows and ground surface contours are shown on the site plan showing the
grade and direction of flow on the lot. The drainage pattern will not be changed as a
result of this project.
The test holes placed on the lot in the area of the absorption trench indicate silty gravel
with sand (GM). We are assuming the soils at the alternate site are the same and
subsurface soils throughout the subdivision have been consistent. The percolation rate
of the soil at the test holes was determined to be 1 to 5 minutes per inch. No
groundwater was found during the placement of the test holes and none was noted
during the monitoring period. An application rate of 1.2 gallons per day per square foot
was used in the design of the absorption system. We are proposing to place a new
2,000 -gallon septic tank and an oversized 50' long by 3' wide by 8' effective depth
absorption trench to treat and dispose of the effluent generated in the house. The
elevation of the distribution line in the absorption trench will be 3' below the surface and
the total depth will be 11'. A minimum of 3' of fill or 2" of insulation and 2' of fill will be
placed over the absorption trench and 4' over the septic tank. We are requesting a
condition to the permit requiring additional test holes and percolation tests to insure the
continuity of soils for the alternate site and other areas of the absorption system that do

not fall within the 30' radius of Test Hole No. 9. All subsurface soils in the subdivision
have been found to be consistent.
The ground surface on the lot in the area of the septic system slopes to the southwest
at a shallow grade with some cross sloping from the east. The new trench will be
constructed parallel with the contours of the slope as much as possible in conformance
with Municipal requirements. The new septic system will be constructed a minimum of
100' from all wells and any surface water and 10' the proposed and existing water
services in the area.
If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements
apply:
1. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells
in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing
septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
3. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve
space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area.
4. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on drainage
patterns in the area. The current drainage pattern will be maintained.

Absorption Trench to Slope Waiver
Dear Onsite Services Engineer:
The subject property is relatively flat except for a steep slope near the southwest
property line. We have located an area with acceptable soils for the absorption trench
upgrade, but it is located 30' from a break in grade greater than 25%. The end of the
alternate site is 37' from the break. We are therefore applying for a waiver allowing
placement of the absorption trench and the alternate site at the designated locations.
The attached drawing shows the absorption trenches in relation to the slope. The
imaginary 25% slope when extended downward from 2' above the distribution line does
not daylight for the primary trench less than 50' from the sidewall and 45' for the
alternate site. We therefore request a waiver be issued allowing placement of the new
absorption trench within 30' of a slope greater than 25%. We also request a waiver
allowing the alternate trench to be 37' from the slope greater than 25%.
