All construction must be in accordance with:
1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska Wastewater
Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80).
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer must notify the Development Services
Department at least 2 hours prior to each inspection. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24 hours).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather must either:
A. Open and Close on the same day.
B. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing.
Special Provisions: The completed well decommissioning shall be reported on the required Well
Decommissioning form prior to approval of the inspection report. Note: the form is available on the
website.

Ref: Proposed Septic System for Debora S/D #1; Lot 16A (Old Lots 16 & 17)
The referenced property was developed in 1969 and had a 3 bedroom residence located
on it that was served by a private well and septic system. Several years ago, the house
was destroyed by a fire. The structure was demolished and removed by Green General
Contracting at the request of a new owner and the old septic system was located and
decommissioned. We are unaware of the exact location of the septic system. In 2015, we
performed a test hole for the purpose of installing a new septic system to serve a new
residence to be built on the property. At that time, the referenced property was two (2)
lots (Lots 16 and 17). Recently, the owner had the lot line removed between Lots 16 and
17 and renamed Lot 16A (see attached plat). According to S4 Group, the mylar for this
plat has been signed by all parties and it will be recorded within the next week or two. The
new 3 bedroom house will be served by a public water and a new private septic system.
There is already an existing water service line connected to the public water main and
this will be utilized for the new house. The old well on the property was decommissioned
by Arctic Well and Pump on 8/3/2013 (see attached letter). We are proposing that a new
1000 gallon septic tank and new drainfleld be installed as shown on the attached site plan
and design drawing. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached soils log which show the soil classifications, groundwater
monitoring, and the percolation test results. The new drainfield will be installed within the
30 foot radius of this test hole.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There is a stream that is located on the property. The proposed
septic system will be installed over 100 feet from this existing stream.
4, TOPOGRAPHY: Both the site plan and design drawing have the topography shown
on them that was provided by S4 group. The proposed drainfield is to be installed near
the base of a steep slope where it is generally flat. In short, there are no slope concerns.
We are unaware of any adVerse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or
