Subject: Septic Installation Narrative AK Rim Engineering Project #: 16-00682 To whom it may concern, The subject property will be served by a private well and a septic system. The property upon initial site visit was observed to have no structures. Through conversations with the client there was a single family residence on the property which had been removed and there is no evidence of a septic system or any recorded documentation of one one site. The intent is to construct a 3 bedroom Single Family home on the property. The design narrative is summarized as follows: GENERAL SITE PLAN AND SEPARATIONS: All surrounding properties are served by private wells and septic systems. See the attached site plan showing proximity to surrounding properties wells and septic systems. There are no surface waters within 100' of the proposed septic system. There are no wells within 100 feet of the proposed septic system. SOIL CONDITIONS: On 8/11/2016, a test hole was excavated by Sannders and Saunders Excavating and logged by Alaska Rim Engineering to a depth of 13 feet. Grouudwater was encountered at 11 feet and a monitoring tube was installed. A 7 day measurement was made and the level was at 10.5 feet and a seasoual adjustment was made to 8.5 feet. This was used in the design of the system. Based upon the percolation test results, which were faster than 1 min/inch, we are proposing to install a sand filter and using an application rate of 0.7 gpd/ft2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: The proposed drainfield will consist ora bed type drainfield. See attached design drawing for the drainfield specifications. TOPOGRAPHY: The general topography of the lot is 0-5% nmning south to north. There are no slope concerns for this property.
