RE: Test Hole and Soil Log Report for Sanitary System
Lot 12 Block 9, Mountain Park Estates
Dear Mr. Hempel:
We are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments
regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This
investigation was performed in accordance with your request of July
28, 1975, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated December
19, 1974, by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area
Borough Department of Environmental Quality. ~
A single test hole was put down within the Lot 12 area for the purpose
of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proF~Dsed sani-
tary system. Excavation was accomplished with an auger type drilling
rig and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 20.0 feet below
ground surface. The final log prepared for the test hole has been in-
cluded in Drawing A-01.
Ground water was not encountered in the test hole.

Subject: Mountain Park Estates Subdivision, block 9, lot 12
On 3/12/84 a Health Authority inspection was performed on the subject
property. It was determined that the septic tank is located 82-83 feet
from the well on this property.
The septic system was installed 10/75, and referenced 100 feet to a
proposed well. The permit/application was issued 7/75 and specified 50
feet separation from septic tank to well. Health Authority approvals on
this property were granted in 1977 and 1980.
The well log indicates impermeable layers at 20-72 feet and 74-82 feet.
The situation has existed since 1975; however, a waiver (besides the
1975 permit) has not been specified. Perhaps the best solution would be
to record a waiver of distance to' clarify this situation. Should you
