During the test, the system accepted 170 gallons in 60 minutes. This indicates an average effluent acceptance rate of approximately 2.8 gallons per minute at the time of the test. Joyce - Builder Gentlemen: I have been advised by the inspection department of the Municipality of Anchorage to make you aware of the acutely short water supply in the well provided by Joyce Builders on the home described above which was purchased by me from Mr. Joyce in October 1975. At the time of purchase, there was not enough water supply for the normal, daily needs of two people, let alone a family for which the four-bedroom home was built. It was hoped that over a period of time the flow net in the well would improve and the water supply become adequate. This has not been the case. Three loads of clothes through a washing machine, or hosing off the deck floor and sidewalk depletes the water supply and necessitates approximately a two-hour delay for well recovery sufficient to provide enough water for bathing. I am extremely concerned about fire protection as there are no local city mains available.
