We are therefore applying for a permit place a new septic tank to serve the existing four bedroom home. The existing absorption trench will remain in service. The attached Site Plan and backup documentation show the location and configuration of the new septic tank and the location of the existing well and septic system. The 100' protective radius for the well and neighboring wells is also shown on the Site Plan. The existing septic tank will be pumped, crushed, backfilled and abandoned on site. The new tank will be placed a minimum of 100' from the existing well with new post tank cleanouts between the tank and the existing trench. A foundation cleanout will be placed if one is not currently in place. Placement of the new system in the location shown will have no effect on wells or septic systems on adjacent 16ts. If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements apply: I The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 2. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 3. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 10.0 mg/L for public drinking water systems. While private wells are not subject to this regulation, EPA standards are based on existing health information and can therefore be used to gauge the relative quality of water from private wells. Since nitrates are known to slowly increase, we recommend you monitor the water quality. Please see the attached “Nitrate Fact Sheet” for important information regarding nitrate. This advisory must be attached to all copies of the subject Certificate of On-Site Systems Approval.
