The property generally slopes to the north and northwest. The septic system is located outside of any travel ways. The proposed absorption field is located on sloping ground at approximately 10%; however a cut slope greater than 25% is located 16 feet to the northwest. Due to terrain, setback requirements and limited area available to relocate the field, we would like to request a waiver of the 50 -foot setback requirement for the subsurface disposal field from any change in slope 25% or more. The original system was installed in 1982 Failed and a soil test showed low permeable soils that would require a very large conventional system. The Biocycle system will allow sufficient leachfield reduction to allow placement of the system in the available area. The clarified effluent should result in an increased lifespan for the system and provide the needed lift station. We have utilized the 1 gpd/sf rating formerly utilized in prior Biocycle design submittals. The Biocycle was chosen as it is an established system with a maintenance contract available. We are not requesting a waiver to groundwater table or bedrock. We have attached a site plan showing our 5' wide drainfield location. We are requesting that the drainfields be allowed to be placed at 5' separation as we have installed the 5' wide drainfields in lieu of a bed system and lack the necessary area to separate them by 10'.
