The proposed system will serve an existing dwelling upgraded to a four (4) bedroom house. Currently the lot is developed. The system will utilize a new 1250g tank and add an additional 25 linear feet to the drain field. This lot and the surrounding lots are served by private wells. There are no wells within 100' of the proposed septic system. 1. Soils. Test holes were conducted in the area when the original plat was subdivided in 1980. Bedrock was not encountered in those test holes. The test hole for the existing system on the subject property rated the soil at 165sf/br. An additional test hole will be performed at the time of construction. The upgrade design is based upon the original design absorption rate using 0.8 g/sf/d (188 sf/br) 2. Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 1 of the design package. 3. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and drain field. The proposed drain field upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 4. Topography: The existing topography on the lot generally slopes from northeast to southwest, with a slope of approximately 1-5% in the area of the drain field. There are no steep slopes within 50' of the proposed drain field. The proposed drain field will maintain 50' separation all steep slopes. 5. Drawing Markings: The Drawings are marked "For MoA Review Only". When written notification that the review is complete and that there are no further comments is received from MoA On-Site Department, the note will be removed and "Issued for Construction" drawings will be issued. Box 196650 Anchorage, AK 99519-6650 RE: Pitzer SID, Lot 2 Proposed Well Development To Whom It May Concern: Attached please find the application and supporting documentation to drill a private well on the referenced property. The property was developed in 1981, with a well located on the adjacent Lot 1, to the west. It is proposed to abandon it and drill a new well on Lot 2. There is another private well serving Lot 1. The proposed well is located within the 50 ft BLM Right -of -Way reservation, as this is the only available location on the lot which is 100 ft from the septic system and out of the driveway. An encroachment permit has been approved by the MOA Right -of -Way Division. The existing septic system was installed in 1981, and is partially located within the Right -of -Way reservation along the eastern lot line. This encroachment has also been approved. I am not aware of any adverse effect that this well development would have on any adjacent properties' water and wastewater treatment needs. Thank you for consideration of this permit application.
