1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska Wastewater
Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80).
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer must notify the Development Services
Department at least 2 hours prior to each inspection. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24 hours).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather must either:
A. Open and Close on the same day.
B. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing.
Special Provisions: The location of an abandoned crib is unknown. If, during construction, the crib
is located, construction of the system will stop and a design change is to be submitted for On -Site
review and approval.

To Whom it may concern:
This is a request for a septic permit on the above referenced lot because the existing system has failed. A test
hole was excavated to 18 feet revealing sandy gravel in the top 3 to 4 feet then silty gravel for the remaining
depth. The perc rate was 12 minutes per inch with no water observed during excavation or after the 7 day
waiting period. A simple deep trench has been designed for the replacement field to match the old system.
The current 3 bedroom system is located in the 30 foot Right -of -Way but the new system will be
constructed outside of this easement. The owner has requested a 4 bedroom which is an upgrade and the
secondary system can be installed parallel to the easement. The owner is requesting that the old system also
be upgraded to a 4 bedroom system by extending it 15 feet but its in the easement, please advise.
The lot slopes gently to the west at about 3 to 4 percent with no cut banks or slopes greater than 25 percent
within 200 feet of the site. The contours on the site plan are two foot typical. This new system will not
impact any of the neighboring properties due to the large lot sizes and good soils.

The Right of Way Division has reviewed a request for a letter of non -objection to an existing and proposed extension of
the septic system, which encroaches 10 feet into the 30 foot Right of Way Reserve Easement. On the as -built survey
dated June 20, 2013, submitted with the request, the petitioner has shown the existing and proposed extension of the septic
system.
This letter of non -objection is issued with stipulations, and by using it the petitioner is agreeing to the following
Municipality of Anchorage (MOA) will be held harmless, now and forever, for any damages or injury to any
person as a result of the encroachments.
2. All applicable codes and regulations will be observed and maintained within the easement.
3. This letter of non -objection will in no way preclude MOA from full use and enjoyment of its rights within any
portion of the easement.
4. Additional and extraordinary costs incurred during any future required construction, repair or reconstruction of
MOA improvements to accommodate any or all of the encroachments shall be paid by the property owner.
