The following additional information is provided per your request:
The residence has been located on both Lot 8 and 9 as a single
family dwelling. The septic system standpipes and the well are
separated by a distance in excess of 100 feet. Septic systems and
wells on adjoining lots all exceed the minimum horizontal distance
requirements from the facilities on the referenced property.

Dear Jean,
REFERENCE: Lot 8 and 9: Block 8: Pruess Subdivision ~4
A search of the Municipality records indicate that an adequacy test
was performed on the septic system located on the referenced property
by Alaska Environmental Control Services, Inc., On January 31, 1983.
The results of this test indicated that the system was adequate.
Since it has been less than two years since this test was performed
another adequacy test is not considered necessary at this time.
A well and septic inspection was performed by us. The clean-outs
of the septic system were visible and equipped with adequate caps.
The well casing was equipped with an adequate sanitary seal and the
well wires were in conduit. The ground around the well casing adequately
slopes away from the well. At the same time a water sample was taken
from the house and submitted to Chemical and Geological Laborabories
of Alaska,for coliform bacteria analysis. The results of this test
were satisfactory.
A well flow test was also performed at this time. The static water
level in the well casing was measured at 2~1 feet below the top
of the casing. The water was then drawn down to the pump level and
allowed to recover back to the original static level. The recovery
rate of the well was determined to be approximately 55 gallons per
hour.

NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Subject: Well installation on Lots 8/9 Blk 8 Preuss Subd.
Dear Sirs:
This office recently received a well log for Lots 8/9 of Block 8
Preuss Subdivision. The well was drilled by Wheaton Water
Wells, Inc. and was done at the request of your office. As you
are the owner of record it is incumbent upon you to ensure that
all work performed on your property is in accordance with
existing laws and regulations. Per AMC 15.55.040 the
aforementioned well, having been drilIed without the knowledge
or approval of this department, is in violation of said
municipal code and cannot be approved.
The Department requests that a site plan of the well
installation be forwarded to this office along with the
necessary permit fee. The site plan will be reviewed for code
compliance and an appropriate permit issued. Should the
installation fail to meet existing code it will be necessary to
abandon the well and reapply for a new well location.
It is requested that you make application no later than ten days
after receiving this notice. Should you have any questions
either direct them in writing to the Municipality of Anchorage,
On-site Services Section, Department of Health and Human
Services, PO Box 196650, Anchorage, AK 99519-6650, or call my
office at 343-4744.

On January 31, 1983 our company collected a water sample from the house
located on Lot 9, Block 8, Pruess #4 SubdivisiQn. The property owner is
Royce Roll. The water analysis was satifactory.
The well has a seal and the casing stands approximately one foot above
the ground. The electrial wires are completely enclosed in metal
conduit. All standpipes are capped.
The results of the bacterial test for the water is attached.

Reference: Lot 8 and 9; Block 8; Pruess Subdivision
At your request a se;m?e system adequacy test was performed on the
system serving your three bedroom home located on the referenced
property. The septic tank was pumped and verified to have a capacity
of approximately 1000 gallons. The seepage pit was charged ~dth
approximately 1000 gallons of ~ter and after a period of 24 hours
all the water which had been added to the crib had percolated into
the surrounding soil.
It can be concluded form the above test that the sewage system is
currently functioning adequately.

department from Chem Lab, 5633 B Street, for
our review.

The septic tank pumped with a receipt submitted
to this department.
Locate and expose the standpipes to the sewer
system for our inspection. This is to insure
the minimum distance'requirements are met between
your well and sewer system.
An adequacy test be performed on the existing
leaching area. This test will determine if the
system is adequate according to National Standards.
A listing of private firms performing the test is
enclosed. This report needs to be submitted to
this department for our review.
