We propose to install a new tank and augment the existing trench to for a proposed 1-bedroom ADU per the attached design. The design is based on the recent test hole that was conducted on August 22, 2019. The slopes are flat at the proposed septic location. The lot and area are served by private water. As requested we performed adequacy tests on the well and septic system. The results of our field investigation and adequacy tests are summarized as follows: A. WELL: On the day of our test (5/18/2007) the static water level was 26 feet below the top of the casing (BTC). A total of six -hundred and fifty-nine (659) gallons were pumped from the well in 173 minutes, which caused the level in the casing to drop to 92 feet BTC (A total drop of 66 feet). Based upon this data it can be concluded that the well will continuously produce at least 3.24 gallons per minute and exceeds the Municipal requirements for a 4 bedroom house (0.42 gallons per minute). B. SEPTIC SYSTEM ADEQUACY TEST: The septic system consists of a 1250 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield that is a 2.5 feet wide, 64 feet long, and has an effective depth of 5 feet. It was installed on 9/24/1982. Prior to starting the adequacy test, the drainfield was dry. A total of 661 gallons of water was added to the drainfield, which caused a rise of 4 inches in the monitoring tube. The drainfield was checked approximately 13 minutes later and the drainfield was dry. Based upon this data, it was determined that the absorption rate of the trench exceeds 600 gallons per day, as required for a 4 bedroom house.
