RE: SEPTIC SYSTEM UPGRADE PERMIT
LEGAL: HOMAN ACRES LOT 1
The property owner has requested we obtain a permit to upgrade the failed septic system of the
above referenced lot. We propose to install one shallow trench and reconnect to the existing
septic tank to serve the existing 3-bedroom residence. The design is based on the recent test hole
conducted on October 8, 2024. No groundwater was observed at test hole excavation or
monitoring.
The slopes are moderate at 0-3% at the proposed upgrade location. The lot and area are served
by private water. The design will not impact any of the neighboring properties. Please contact

Ref: Proposed Septic System upgrade for Homan Acres Subdivision, Lot 1
To whom it may concern:
The existing 3 -bedroom house is served by a private well and septic system. The septic system
is failed and must be replaced. A test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be
designed around the 30 -foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing that a new 1000 -gallon
septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the design are
summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached log, which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring,
and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, an
application rate of 1.0 gallons/day/R2 should be used.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:

Percolation Rate: 2.9 minutes/inch

4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached topography site plan, the average
topography in the area of the proposed drainfield is relatively flat. In short, there are no slope
concerns.
