The existing septic system is failing and the owner would like to replace it. The proposed system will serve a 4 -bedroom single-family residence. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Calcs: No groundwater observed. (7/22/2014). Soil Rating. From Test hole 7/15/14 1.4 min/in = 1.2 gal per sq.ft./day No. of Bedrooms 4 Required Area per Bedroom: 15011.2 =125 sq.ft. Total area required: 125 x 4 = 500 sq.ft. System: We are proposing a deep trench absorption field connected to the existing system via a diverter valve. The absorption field will consist of two trenches 25 feet long and 2 feet wide and contain 8.5 feet (850 sq.ft. effective) of sewer rock. The trenches will be connected via a 50/50 flow splitter and double cleanouts will be installed after the tank and before the diverter valve. All piping under the driveway will be insulated. Soils: A Test hole was excavated on July 15, 2014. See the attached soil logs. Ground water monitoring will continue through construction of the septic system. (2) Locate and expose the well for our inspection to determine proper construction, also to insure the minimum distance requirements are met between your well and sewer system. (3) A four(4) inch cast iron cleanout needs to be installed to the sewer system. 4) The septic tank pumped with a receipt submitted to this department. (5) An adequacy test be performed on the existing leaching area. This test will determine if the system is adequate according to National Standards. A listing o.f private firms performing the test is enclosed. This report needs to be submitted to this department for review.
