RE: Development of Lot 2 Denali Industrial Subdivision
Wastewater Disposal
Gentlemen:
Per your request, we have reviewd the requirements for wastewater
disposal for the proposed warehouse office development on Lot
2 of Denali Industrial Subdivision. There are currently no
sewage facilities available in the ifm~ediate area. This condition
will remain until the completion of the Raspberry Road Interceptor
scheduled for 1985 - 86 completion.
In the interm an on site disposal system or a holding tank
will be required. The site is poorly suited for on-site disposal
because of high ground water ( 3-5 feet below the surface)
and poor soil conditions (peat and stiff grey silt). Therefore
the only solution is a holding tank. Based on 2,500 square
feet of office space and 28,000 square feet of warehouse, we
assume a total work force of 25 people. At a flow rate of
15 gallons/person/day, the total daily sewage flow is estimated
at 375 gallons per day. The Municipality of Anchorage Department
of Environmental Health requires a minimum of 7 days storage
or a minimum capacity of 2,625 gallons.
This letter, along with the soils report by Alaska Test]ab
and a plot plan should be submitted to 3ohn Linn @ MOA Department
of Environmental Health (825 L street) to obtain a permit for
a holding tank. They may also require a signed agreement between
the developer and a septage pumping company that the tank will
be maintained on a regular basis.
Should you have any questions or require further assistance
from us do not hesitate to call myself or Brian Looney.
Truly,
