Dear Mr. Cowan,
Your request for a waiver of the required five(5) foot separation from a foundation to a septic
tank has been approved. The approved separation distance from the foundation to the on-site
septic tank on the referenced property is 2.3 feet.
This waiver approval applies to the existing on-site septic tank and foundation only. Any future
upgrade of the on-site septic tank will require all separation distances be met or another approval
from this office.

Request that you issue a waiver for the horizontal separation distance between the septic tank and
the foundation at 2 feet. The mitigation factors involved which support the issuance of the
waiver are as follows:
The garage is constructed with a concrete slab at ground level. Thc elevation of
the concrete slab is higher than the grade elevation at the location of the septic tamk.
This would prevent any effluent that would surface at the septic tank from running back
towards the garage.
The attached garage is located between the septic tank and the house. The closest point
to the house foundation is more than 20 feet away frmn the septic tank.
The encroachment between thc tank and the foundation is only at one end of the tank
and to a corner of the foundation as shown with the sketch below:
