The attached site plan identifies the location of the home as well as the proposed septic location and alternate site. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system, whether on this lot or adjacent lots. The ground surface on the lot slopes gradually towards the south at or under 20%. The new septic system will be located towards the southern side of the lot. There are no slopes greater than 25% within 50 feet downslope of either the primary or alternate site. Contour lines are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow. Stormwater drainage will not impact this septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible. There are no adjacent well radii that conflict with this property. The new system will be greater than 100’ from all wells and surface water, and more than 5’ away from the septic tank. The alternate site is located more than 12’ away from the primary site. Please refer to the attached test hole logs and plan and profile pages for the septic design. The proposed systems will serve a new four-bedroom house. Currently the lot is developed. The lot is served by a private water wells that is located along the northern property line. The proposed septic system will be installed in the approximate middle of the lot along the western property line. The surrounding lots are undeveloped and there are no water systems within 200 feet of the proposed septic system. 1. Soils. A single test hole was excavated in June of 1994. The soil log is on file with your department. Ground water was monitored for over seven days and the test holes remained dry during this period. Bedrock was not encountered in the test holes. It is my opinion, based on the results of the percolation tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/square feet should be used, using a conventional treatment system. 2.
