Gentlemen:
We have no objection to the continued use of the existing cesspool
if a septic tank is installed in the line ahead of the cesspool.
If you have any questions regarding this please contact me.

Sir:
I am in the process of selling my two-bedroom house located at 7529 Maryland
Avenue (lot 55a no blocK, Creekside Ist A~d~] and will possibly require D.E.Q.
approval'of my on-site sewage system to obtain financing.
My situation would normally require the installation of a IO00-gallon septic
tank to meet D.E.Q. standards. I would like to request a temporary waiver
from this requirement for the following reasons:
I) the present system appears to be working. In my three years at
this location I have never even pumped the cesspool.
2) my house and all others in the immediate vicinity are served by
public water.
3) following submittal of a request signed by myself and my neighborhs,
the G.A.A.B. Sewer Department is designing a public sewer system
that will serve my lot. I have been informed by G.A.A.B. engineers
that the system will very probably be installed next summer. I
would be willing to escrow estimated hookup fees to guarantee
immediate connection to public sewer.
4) I doubt that it would be physically possible to install a septic
tan!~ in frozen ground.
In summary, I feel that the installation of an $800 septic tank, when the present
system is working and public sewer is eight months away, would be financially
harsh and not necessarily protective of the public health.
Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter. I have found your
employees, particularly Mr. Rumfelt and Miss Dickerson, to be most courteous
and helpful.
Very trml~ y~urs,,
William A. Ba~non
