The required separation of 100 feet from the septic leachfield on Lot 17A Block 4 Colonial Park Subdivision to the residential well on Lot 1 Block 3 has been waived to 90 feet. This waiver applies to this existing leachfield to well separation. Box 773294 Eagle River, Alaska 99577 Telephone (907) 694-5195 Dear Mr. Morris: On behalf of my client, Mr. Leslie Ledwon, I am submitting the information necessary for your determination of a waiver of separation distance, private well to septic leachfield of 90' for the above referenced lot. The leachfield is located on a neighbors lot, Colonial Park Subdivision, Lot 17A, Block 4. The leachfield was installed in 1984 by Southfork Construction and was inspected and approved by S & S Engineering at that time, as per the inspection report enclosed. Our field measurements confirm the leachfields extreme end to be 90' from the well. The enclosed well log shows that the well is drilled into a sand and gravel aquifer a depth of 347' with continuous casing to that level. The log indicates several layers of soil containing clay and several layers of dense sand. A measurement of static water level is 296' below the top of casing. The surface topography is such that any seepage would be directed away from the well location toward the east by the roadway drainage ditch which lies directly between the well and the leach trench. (See plot plan.) The subsurface soil is a sand and gravel type with a pert. rating of 125. A water sample for coliform bacteria was satisfactory.
