We have no comment until the tracts are broken into lots.

We reco)m)~end postponement to allow the engineer tin~ to submit tile
required data. Data lacking is: l) water availability data;
2) we question if the submitted soils logs show the seasonal high
water table - the soils testing firm must indicate this on supple-
mental data; 3) we must have locations of all sewer and water on
surrounding lands that will affect placement of individual utilities
on these lots~ 4) we must i~ave sewer and water layouts for each lot.
17) S 3170 Voyager Heights Subdivision
We recon~end postponing this case to allow the engineer time to collect
more data and discuss the data witi~ our iJepartment.
We question if major parts of this proposal are suitable for develop-
ment at ti~is tin~. Our data shows ~',~os~ of the area nas very tight
soils, the southern portions of the proposal are very steep and we
question the availability of ~tater from individual wells.

Dear Mr. Mabry:
Because of a misunderstanding on the part of my staff,
the submittal for Case S 3178, C Strpet Industrial
Subdivision. included a statemen-t to the affect that
Doth communzty water and sewer would be provided prior
to development of the subdivision.
It was not the developer's intent, nor was it my under-
standing that community water would be provided. The
nearest public water supply is a quarter of a mile from
the project site, making water service costly to provide.
A sewer trunk however is available immediately adjacent
to the project and can be readily connected to.by persons
occupying the subdivision.
It is our opinion that adequate sanitary protection will
be provided by utilizing community sewer but allowing
individual water supplies of parcels within the subdivision.
Toward that end, the owner has joined the L.I.D. scheduled
for this area.
We therefore respectfully request'that approval be granted,
in accordance with Mr. Strickland's letter of September 26,
1973, without the requirement for community water.
Yours very truly,

SUBJECT: C Street Industrial Subdivision
Dear Mr, Bomhoff:
I am writing in response to your letter of October 4, 1973
which requested our approval of the subject industrial subdivision
without the provision of community water. We have no objection to
the development of the subdivision with individual water supplies
for each business. However the water supplies must meet the pro-
tective radii as set out by the Alaska Department of Environmental
