The system was constructed with the prospect of serving more than one residence on the lot at some time in the future and possibly a bed and breakfast operation. It was therefore constructed more than 150' from the well on the lot which will be designated as a Class C Well. Work was completed in early July by Acreage Systems of Anchorage. All work was inspected during construction by representatives from my office. We have verified that cover material over both the septic tank and the absorption trench is more than 4' in depth. The effective depth of the trench was increased from 6' to 8' during construction because soils encountered in portions of the trench percolated at rates slower than those encountered in the original testholes. The length of the trench is the same as designed or 110'. We are confident that sufficient absorption is available to effectively dispose of effluent generated in a seven bedroom home.
