Dear Mr. Mayo:
Please be adviseJ of the status of the upcoming sewer project in
the Girdwood/Alyeska Area. The project will be bid and con-
structed in two phases. Phase I construction includes all the
lateral sewers except for those in the developing area south and
east of the intersection of Glacier Creek and A~Yeska Road. We
expect to open bids for Phase I on June 8 and begin construction
by July 15, 1978. Construction should be completed by June 30
1979. ,
Depending on the outcome of the bidding on Phase I, the Utility
may decide to bid and award the remainder of the work this year
or wait until 1979. If Phase II is awarded this year, comple-
tion can be expected by September 30, 1979. If award is delayed
until 1979, completion can be expected by December 15, 1979.
4 hope this letter will provide sufficient information for your
agency to process those loan requests now pending for Mr. Dennis
Kelley and others in the Alyeska/Girdwood Area.

DESIGN ANALYSIS

Temporary Sewage Holding Tank
for
Tract B
Atyeska Subdivision
The proposed 5 unit condominium project discussed in this report is
located in Glrdwood south of Steamboat Springs Road and east of Squaw Valley
Road within Tract B adjacent Co the parking area for the Alyeska Ski Resort.
The 5 unit condominium Is scheduled for construction this summer with
occupancy by the first of November.
This construction schedule presents a need for a temporary on-site
sewage holding tank In that the Girdwood Area Laterals Program is not
completed at this tlme, The on-site holding tank proposed for ,these units
will be abandoned and the condominiums will be connected to the public
system when it becomes operat|onal.
Design Flow Calculations:

Assume usage approximates a motel with bach, toilet and kitchen wastes:
50 gal. per day. (Sec'Public Health Service Publication No. 526, Manual of
Septic Tank Practice).
