All construction shall be in accordance with:
1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska
Wastewater Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80)
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing
Special Provisions:
1. The driveway is to be blocked/removed in the area of the tank prior to IR approval.
2. Locate the edge of the crib to ensure that the tank meets the 5' separation.
3. It appears that a property line waiver for the crib may be required for a future COSA.

Septic Tank Upgrade
Design Narrative
Design Narrative: The existing septic tank is leaking and needs to be upgraded. It will be abandoned in
place or removed and disposed in accordance with the code. The proposed septic tank will be located in
a new location greater than 100‐feet from the well. Prior to construction, the drainfield will be located
and adequacy tested. If it fails the adequacy test, a drainfield upgrade permit will be required.
Installation of the proposed septic tank shall be as detailed on the design drawing. If constructed as
designed, it will;
Satisfy all code required horizontal and vertical separation distances,
Not cause any probable adverse impacts to adjacent properties,
Not negatively impact existing wells and septic systems on adjacent properties,
Not be adversely affected by potential drainage that could flow onto and off of the subject
property.

Seepage Pit
Waiver Request
During the recent septic tank upgrade on the subject property, the existing seepage pit was found to be
3.6‐feet from the west property line and as such requires a lot‐line separation distance waiver.
The adjacent property’s existing septic system and reserve drainfield are greater than 50‐feet from the
shared property line and are not anticipated to be impacted by the granting of this waiver.
In light of these facts, Crewdson Engineering is requesting a waiver to allow the seepage pit to be within
3‐feet of the west property line.
