Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: Septic System Installation Permit Sun Valley Heights Block 4 Lot 1 Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a well and septic system installation permit for the above referenced property. The proposed system will serve a 7 -bedroom single-family residence. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Cates: No groundwater observed up to a depth of 18.1 feet below ground surface (7/25/13). Soil Rating. From test hole 7/8/13 6.2 min/in = 0.8 gal per sq.ft./day No. of Bedrooms 7 Required Area per Bedroom: 150/ 0.8 = 187.5 sq -ft. Total area required: 187.5 x 7 = 1312.5 sq.ft. Use deep trench with 7 feet effective Minimum trench length: 1312.5 sq.ft. / 14 = 93.8 ft. System: We are proposing a 2000 gallon tank with a deep trench absorption field. The absorption field will consist of two trenches, 47 feet long and 3 feet wide and contain 7 feet (1316 sq.ft. effective) of sewer rock. Soils: Two test holes were excavated on July 8th, 2013. See the attached soil logs. No groundwater was observed up to a depth of 18.1 feet below ground surface on July 25 h, 2013. Ground water monitoring will continue through construction of the septic system. A cut bank exists along Gunnison Drive. The proposed absorption field will be more than 50 feet from the top of the cut bank. Waivers: None The installation of this septic system will not prevent wells and septic systems from being installed on the adjacent lots. The proposed septic system will not change the general slope of the area. Ponding and/or concentration of surface runoff will not result from this installation. The proposed reserve absorption field is 27 feet away from cut bank to the road surface (50% - 55%) of Gunnison Rd to the south and 30 feet away from the cut bank (40%- 45%) to the driveway to the northwest. A drawing has been submitted showing the existing conditions towards Gunnison road. According to MOA onsite slope waiver guidelines, effluent from this system does not appear to be at risk of day lighting. The current configuration of this septic system will not prevent wells and septic systems from being installed on the adjacent lots.
