We propose to install a 1250-gallon HDPE tank outside any deck supports to serve the existing 4-bedroom residence. The proposed tank will be placed 50’+ from the Greater Anchorage Area Borough approved separation to the well. The field recently passed an adequacy test. Please see the attached nitrate results. Continuation of the 50’ separation is warranted due to the fact the well is 10’+ up gradient from the proposed tank, the slope runs away from the well and a higher quality HDPE tank is being installed. Guffey, PLS dated August 4, 2025, the existing end of the field is approximately 9' (Approximately 8' per Ken Lang, PLS — which is also attached) from the property line and the closest portion of the existing trench was measured at approximately 91' to the property's well. We are therefore requesting waivers of 7' between the referenced, existing end of field to property line along with the approximate, conservative location of the property's septic field to well of 85' be granted at this time. Granting of these waivers are justified in the fact that there is no adjacent septic field within 25'+ to the lot line in question and the closest adjacent well logs for Hokama Heights #1 Lots 1 & 2 show confining layers of silt to 268' & 191' with static water levels of 231' & 170' respectively to safely protect the aquifer. Furthermore, the attached CAN water samples consist of low nitrate levels which show no real effluent causing nitrate influence, the septic system has been in operation for around 40+ years with no known side effects, the field is 10'+ downhill from the wellhead with no possibility of effluent interaction, the property continues downhill into virgin, natural vegetation. For these and other reasons, granting of these waivers is justifiable. Also, granting of these waivers will not adversely impact any of the neighboring properties.
