II. SPECIAL PROVISIONS
A. LOCATION AND SCOPE OF~WORK
The location of the work is the O'Malley School
located one block south of 0'Malley Road on Rockridge
Street.
2. The Scope of Work includes the following:
Install a new sewer manhole and splitter box
on the existing sewer at the location shown
on the drawing.

Install new.6-inch sewer pipe between the new
'manhole and the new absorption trenches. The
pipe may be ABS PVC or Cast Iron.
Install~new absorption trenches as shown on the
drawings. The pipe shall be perforated ABS or
PVC laid in a bed of Type C filter material.
The filter material shall extend a minimum of
6-inches below and 2-inches above the pipe.
B. REFERENCE TO MUNICIPALITY 'OF ANCHORAGE CONTRACT DOCUMENTs
1. This invitation is subject to and hereby incorporates
by reference, the Municipality of Anchorage General
Provisions, StandardlConstruction Specifications
and Standard Details, May 1976. This document may
be purchased for $10.00 per set at the office of the
Municipal Purchasing Officer, 3717 Arctic Blvd.,
Anchorage, Alaska.
C~ SPECIAL PROCEDURES
The pipe in the absorption trenches shall be laid
level throughout the field. Care shall be ~aken during
excavation to avoid compacting or "smear±ng" the
sides and bottom of the trench.
The exact location, elevation and size of the existing
sewer pipe at the new manhole are unknown. The
contractor must verify in the field. The new sewer
shall be laid on a straight alignment and uniform
grade between the new manhole and elevation 599.0 at
the new absorption trenches.
D. SHOP DRAWINGS AND SUBMITTALS
Prior to beginning the work, the contractor shall submit
shop drawings and a list of the exact materials he
he proposes to use for the manhole, sewer pipe and
absorption pipe to the. Engineer for approval.
BASIS FOR PAYMENT
Basis for payment for this work shall be in accordance
with SEction 10.07 of the Municipality of Anchorage
Specifications and shall be full payment for all work
described.

sewer system has expired.
Permits are issued on a calendar year basis, as stated
on the permit, by authority of Municipal ordinance.
If you have drilled the well, a well log should be
sent to this department to document the installation
date.
