SM Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick: ~ are submitting herewith the test boring results and our comments regarding soil conditions encountered at the subject site. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of July 19, 1973, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971 by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environ- mental Quality. A single test hole was put down within the Lot 37B area for ~e purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sanitary system. Excavation was accomplished with a tractor-mounted backhoe and the test hole was ex~ended to a total depth of 8.5 feet below ground surface. The final log prepared for 'the test hole has been included in Qrawing A-01. Ground water was encountered in the test hole at a depth of 8.0 feet. If the 4 bedroom residence on the property is to house 8 people, the average load ou the system cart be expected to be 600' gallons per day or .42 gallons per minute. During the test, the system accepted 200 gallons in 75 minutes. This indicates an average effluent acceptance rate of approximately 2.7 gallons per minute at the time of the test. Because the house on the lot is occupied, we asstune that the leach field was at its normal degree of saturation. We can therefore conclude that the system is disposing of effluent at an adequate rate for a 4 bedroom resi- dence.
