The drainfield is in a state of failure and needs to be upgraded. Two testholes were excavated by Carey S. Meyer, P.E. in 1993 and the drainfield is designed around testhole #2. We are proposing to install a new 1000-gallon plastic (greer or infiltrator) septic tank, if burial depths allow, and a bed type drainfield. The proposed drainfield is to be installed on the south lot (T12N R3W Section 33 Lot 47D). Per MOA records, there is an easement which allows the septic system to be installed on the property to the south until public water and sewer becomes available. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached soil logs by Carey S. Meyer, PE with soil log, percolation test, but no 7-day groundwater monitoring. Due to the lack of groundwater monitoring for the subject lot, soil logs for adjacent lots are attached. The results are summarized as follows: • Jayne; Lot 1: Excavated on 1/25/1995 dry on 2/1/1995 down to 15 feet; South of subject lot • T12N R3W Sections 33 Lot 51; T.H. #2 Excavated on 4/27/1998 dry on 5/12/98 and 8/11/1998 down to 14 feet. South-East of subject lot • T12N R3W Section 33 Lot 46: excavated on 10/7/1994 dry on 10/11/1994 down to 12 feet; East of Subject lot • T12N R3W Section 33 Lot 48: T.H. #1 Excavated on 9/16/1998 dry on 9/28/1998 down to 16 feet. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface water concerns. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design/topography drawing, the average topography around the proposed drainfield is less than 10%.
