Subject: Adequacy Test on Existing Sanitary System, Robert J. Traxlinger,
Lot 75, Section 33, T12N, R3W, Anchorage, Alaska
Dear Gentlemen:
On January 4, 1978, we conducted an adequacy test of the sanitary system on
the above mentioned property.
The test consisted of monitoring the liquid level in the standpipe as 153
gallons of water were added to the system. To avoid the possibility of
freezing, our test equipment water was run continually until the total amount
necessary for the test was added to the system. The following table summarizes
the measurements:
Hater
Liquid Level Below Reading Start Meter Reading Gallons
Time Top of Standpipe (Feet) (Gallons) End (Gallons) Added
10:40 4.8 13437.5 0
10:51 4.8 13437.5 13462.5 25
11:03 4.8 13465.0 13490.0 25
11:13 4.7 13491.7 13516.5 25
11:22 4.5 13518.1 13543.0 25
11:31 4.5 13545.2 1~,0.0
11:42 4.5 13571.5 13599.0 28
12:30 4.7 ........

153 gallons added
1.48 gals./minute
The meter used was a Rockwell 5/8" standard water meter which had been previously
calibrated by R&M Consultants, Inc.
Assuming that a 3-bedroom residence will house 6 people, the average load on
the system can be expected to be 450 gallons per day or .31 gallons per
minute. During the test 153 gallons of water were accepted into the system
in 110 minutes, equal to a rate of 1.48 gallons per minute.
From our measurements, we can conclude that the system is disposi~g~of.ef~iuent
at an adequate rate. :'~ .'
