Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80).
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer must notify the Development Services
Department at least 2 hours prior to each inspection. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24 hours).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather must either:
A. Open and Close on the same day.
B. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing.

To Whom it may concern:
This is a request for a new septic system on the above referenced lot. The residence burned and the owner
is rebuilding the house and needs the septic system upgraded. The soils consist of poorly graded sand for the
entire depth of the test hole. No water was observed in the test hole during the excavation or after the 7 day
monitoring period. The perc rate was 2 minutes per inch with an application rate of 1.2 GPD/SF which
means the length is 31 feet by 8 feet effective.
The old tank is currently under a second floor addition, it will be removed and a new tank installed outside
the building, see the plan. The new trench will be installed parallel to the utility easement and 10 feet off the
north property line. The old crib will be pumped and removed, however the new and old leach fields will
have to be closer than the required separation of 16 feet, this will require a waiver.
We are requesting a 5 foot waiver for the separation distance between the new leach field and the old crib,

The house is a small duplex but only one structure therefore the well radius is 100 feet and no waiver is
required, per discussion with MOA reviewers.
The lot slopes to the east at about 1-2 percent. with no cut banks or open water within 100 feet of the
proposed design and all of the surrounding lots are serviced by AWWU.
