Box 110463, Anchorage, Alaska PERCOLATION TEST RESULTS AND GENERAL SITE INVESTIGATION REPORT On January 14, 2000, a percolation test was performed on the above-referenced 20,073 square foot property to determine a replacement on-site wastewater disposal system. The present system, designed for a four bedroom house, has been in a failed condition since the fall of 1999. The site is located at 8727 Wilderness Drive, Anchorage, Alaska. The front portion of the lot is almost level with an average slope of 1% to the north. The area selected for the replacement system, has an average slope of 2%. The property has only a couple spruce trees on the lot. In digging the test hole it was discovered an 17 foot hole had been dug on the lot and used for the purpose to bury trees that had been cut down during the time of construction. The site selected will not be impacted by the fill area. One percolation test was taken at the site to assess the adequacy of subsurface soils to accommodate replacement on-site wastewater disposal systems. The results of this test is attached to this reporL The test site had adequate percolation rate to support the existing four-bedroom residence. Subsurface soils were found to be sandy silt with gravel ovedain by 16" of surface organics. The percolation rate for the soil was found to be approximately 37 minutes per inch. On-site observation and physical survey show that there ere no water wells within a 100' radius of the proposed system.. The proposed system will have no measurable impact on reserve space, surface or subsurface, or on drainage to adjacent lots.
