This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of June 17, 1974, and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971 by Mr. Rolf Strickland of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Department of Environmental Quality. A single test hole was put down within the Lot 13A area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil conditions for the proposed sani- tary sysytem. Excavation was accomplished with a tractor-mounted backhoe and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 12.5 feet below ground surface. The final log prepared for the test hole has been included in Drawing A-01. Ground water was not encountered in the test hole. We appreciate being given this opportunity to be of service to you. During excavation and logging of test hole there was no indication of ground water below the immediate base of the hole which was terminated at a depth of 12.5 feet. Since the soil was relatively dry, we do not feel that the water table was located within the upper few feet below the test hole base. L~so$orski ~-~e No. 3AN-87-1316 Civil Dear Mr. Huddleston: Enclosed please find a copy of Alaska Greenhouses, Inc.'s most recent assessment of the dying or dead trees, along with an estimate for removing Mr. Lysogorski's drain field from the Reitler property. I expect that the Reitler's will have the Lysogorski's drain field removed prior to freeze-up. The Lysogorski's might want to make arrangements to have a proper drain field installed on their property (meaning the Lysogorski's property) since the pipe which intrudes upon the Reitler property will be plugged, leaving the Lysogorski property without proper drainage. The Reitler's regret having to take this action; however, the Lysogorski's have refused to cooperate or reimburse the Reitler's for the damages caused on their property. The purpose of this visit was a follow up from my October 7, 1986 visit to check the condition of the trees listed in the October 7, 1986 letter. Of the 3 trees, the birch with an 18" diameter is dying and the other 2 are dead. The dying tree probably can't be Saved. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the trees need to be replaced.
