We measured the slope directly downgradient of the proposed trench site. The slope falls within 10-15% within the 50' of the trench. This has been noted on sheet 2/3. 2. A distance has been included for the drawing separation between tank and foundation @ 5' A note has also been added. 3. THl was identified on sheet 2/3. 4. Rebar was driven to 14'; no bedrock is present within 6' of the drainfield bottom. 5. The typo was corrected to read 375 FTI. 6. The well radius to the east was located on drawing. 7. The property was walked and no creek found. /3 (( 7/f Y Mountain Valley Estates #1 Block 5, Lot 4 SPECIFICATIONS & DESIGN GUIDELINES Wastewater System Sizing: This is an existing 3 -bedroom, single family home. The existing trench has failed. A new trench has been designed. The existing trench will be connected via a diverter valve. Neighbor lots are served by septic systems/private wells and there are no conflicts. A new 1000 gallon septic tank will be installed and the old tank decommissioned. The topography slopes to the east at about 10% slope at the trench site. A new soil test indicated a SM soil at the trench. Groundwater was encountered and reported. An application rate of 1.2 GPD/FTI will be used for the trench. Trench length = 375 FTI/4.5' x 2 = 42'. Specification Requirements: All components and work must comply with the Municipality of Anchorage Specifications (AMC) & State of Alaska Drinking Water Regulations and Wastewater Regulations. • New 1000 gallon septic tank. Install diverter valve after the double cleanouts. Connect to new trench and existing trench. "On" to new trench. • 5' minimum between the tank and house foundation, tank and trench. 10' to property lines. 10' minimum between trench and existing trench. • 3' of cover or insulation is required for bed; an equivalent of 1" insulation for F soil cover may be used. 2" Minimum thickness for insulation. • Tank & solid pipe must be set on well compacted, stable soil. • 4 inch diameter cleanouts with airtight caps are required F to 4' from foundation wall, prior to any 90 degree bend in 4 inch line, in each tank compartment, and two adjacent opposing cleanouts between the tank and the absorption field, not more than 10' from the tank positioned to provide cleanout access towards the tank and towards the absorption field. All cleanouts must extend to at least ground level. • In solid pipe runs, ASTM D-3034 may be used in lieu of cast iron. • Trench to be placed level, minimum of 4' to groundwater, 6' to bedrock from drain - rock. • Drain rock to be %I" to 2 ''/2' screened.
