3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing

Dear Mr. Wunder:
At your request of July 10, 1978, we conducted a test of the septic
system on the above described property.
During this test the liquid level in the septic tank was monitored as
water was added to the system. The measurements are su~mnarized in the
following table:

The meter used during the test was a Rockwell 5/8" standard water meter
which had previously been calibrated by R&M Consultants, Inc.
If the 3 bedroom residence on the property is to house 6 people, the
average load on the system can be expected to be 450 gallons per day or
.31 gallons per minute. During the test, the system accepted 175 gallons
in 80 minutes. This indicates an average effluent acceptance rate of
approximately 2.2 gallons per minute at the time of the test.
Because the house on the lot is occupied, we assume that the leach field
was at its normal degree of saturation. We can therefore conclude that
the system is disposing of effluent at an adequate rate for a 3 bedroom
residence.

To whom it may concern:
Garness Engineering Group (GEG) was initially contacted by the homeowner to perform a
septic adequacy test and apply for a Certificate of On-site Systems Approval (COSA). On
11/15/2017 GEG performed an adequacy test with passing results. However, it was noted by
GEG that there was an additional septic pipe to the north (see attached 2016 survey by Ken
Lang, PLS) that was not shown on the initial 1975 inspection report. GEG then referred the
homeowner to ARM Services to perform a camera inspection from the cleanout at the south end
of the drainfield back towards the tank. During the camera inspection (on 12/8/2017) ARM
Services found a "T" between the 1975 drainfield and the tank. The "T" could not be bypassed
with a camera and had to be excavated. The homeowner then excavated the "T" for inspection
on 12/13/2017. During the inspection it was noted by GEG and the MOA (Tim Ecklund was
onsite) that there was a "Y" that went to an unknown drainfield and an additional "T" to an
unknown drainfield (see attached photo). It was then determined by GEG and the MOA that the
two unknown lines would be disconnected and the existing, documented 1975 drainfield would
remain in place, but a new adequacy test would have to be performed with a minimum of twice
the required amount of water introduced (per Tim Ecklund). The results of the second adequacy
test are attached.
