Specifications and Design Notes
1. The design of the soil absorption trench is based on a measured perc rate
of 8 minutes per inch in test hole #1, which has been adjusted by the design
engineer to yield a required absorption area of 175 square feet per bedroom, or
525 square feet for the three bedroom residence. This area is to be provided with
a 41 foot long soil absorption trench containing 6.5 feet of sewer gravel beneath
the perforated distribution pipe, between the depths of 7.5 feet and 14 feet below
ground level in the vicinity of test hole ~ 1.
2. The configuration of the system shall be as shown on the plans, except
that minor modifications may be allowed or required by the engineer conducting
the inspections.
3. AIl construction practices and material specifications shall be in
co~ormance with Municipal requirements.
4. The existing septic tank shall be pumped, removed and properly disposed
of, and it shall be replaced with a new I000 gallon, two compartment, steel septic
tank.
5. The waste line leading to ~.he old seepage pit shall be capped off, and the
pit shall be abandoned in place.
6. Three inspections will be required: (1) initial stakeout, (2) after the trench
is dug, but before any gravel is placed, and (3) after the §ravel is placed, the septic
tank is set and all pipes are connected, but prior to installation of the filter fabric
and final backfill work.

I have completed a review of this office's files concerning the monitoring status of the
above-referenced Class "A" Public Water System and found the following:
The last satisfactory Total Coliform Bacteria Sample results was submitted
to this Department on March 31, 1993. This does meet the provisions of
18 AAC 80.200(a), of the State Drinking Water Regulations.
The last inorganic Chemical Contaminants Sample results were submitted
to this Department on October 12, 1992. This does meet the provisions of
18 AAC 80.200(a), of the State Drinking Water Regulations.
The last Radioactive Contaminants Sample results were submitted to the
Department on February 9, 1993. This does meet the provisions of 18 AAC
80.200(a), State Drinking Water Regulations.
The last Organic Chemical Contaminants/Volatile Organic Chemical (VOC)
were submitted to this Department on January 20, 1993. Based on analysis
of the previous VOC samples results have been satisfactory. This does
meet the provisions of 18 AAC 80.200(a), State Drinking Water Regulations.
Issuance of this letter does not imply that the above-referenced Class "A" Public Water
System is in compliance with other provisions of the State Drinking Regulations. Unless
otherwise noted, this letter is valid for 30 days and is for the specified legal description
noted above only.
