Box 196650, Anchorage, Ak 99519-6650 (907) 343-7904 Ref: Proposed Septic Upgrade for Skyway Park Estates; Block 6, Lot 14 To whom it may concern: The existing 3 bedroom house is served by a private well and septic system. The septic system is in a state of failure and needs to be upgraded. There is an AWWU sewer main that runs through Shore Drive. After contacting AWWU they informed us that there was no sewer stub to the referenced property. Due to initial high costs to bring a sewer stub to the property we are proposing to install a 1000 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield. One test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, ~oundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached desi~on drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system. 4~ TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design drawing the average topography below the drainfield is relatively flat. In short, there are no slope concerns. We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems. This investigation was performed in accordance with your request of August 30, 1972 and those procedures outlined in a letter dated September 13, 1971 by 1V[r. Roll Strick- land of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Dep~Lrtment of Environmental Quality. A single test hole was put down within the Lot i4 area for the purpose of defining general subsurface soil condkions ~or the proposed sanitary ~ystem. Excavation was accomplished with a tractor-mounted backhoe and the test hole was extended to a total depth of 7 feet below ground surface.
