Dear Mr. Shafer: The Department has reviewed the information received in this office on August 7, 1992 submitted by Mr. Joe Carpenter for a waiver request of the horizontal separation distance between a Class 'A' Public Water System Source and a proposed septic system. From the information provided the waiver request results from space limitations of the above property and encroachment upon the 150 foot separation distance requirements for a neighboring Class 'C' Public Water System. After analyzing the drilling Icg, soils Icg, and topography of the area; there does not appear to be any significant threat from the proposed site of the septic system to the existing Class 'A' Public Water System serving this property. The Department grants approval of the waiver request in accordance with 18 AAC 80 (and 18 AAC 72) from the'required minimum separation distance of 200 feet to the reduced separation distance of 170 feet. Any modifications to this site will necessitate further approval from this office.
