A copy of that test hole log and an accompanying report has already been transmitted to Mr. Roll Strickland at the Municipality of Anchorage. That test hole log showed these to be NFS, brown Sandy Gravel with the unified classification of GP/GM from 2.5 to 16 feet on the site. A gradation was made' of samples .from this test hole. Therefore, the classification was not visual, but done by laboratory analysis° It showed the percent passing the number 200 screen to be 6%. This should be excellent material for construction of an on-site sewage disposal system. Though we did not run a percolation rate of 1.5 minutes per inch is conservative for soil of this ty~.-q~-~- No free water level was detected in the test hole. Thanks forthis follow up email. Impressive the water was disposed of so quickly. I wonder how effective the effluent is being treated. The profile drawing we have on record for the 2005 trench shows the monitor tube towards the middle of the trench. It sounds like that is not the case in how it was constructed if the MT is 6' away from the CO? Unfortunately, the plan view record drawing is at a scale that makes it difficult to tell where pipes are located. Your test results show that this trench is adequately disposing of effluent. To confirm what we discussed, There is 7 -bedroom home on the property and the house has been vacant for extended period of time. Both the 1978 drainfield and 2005 drainfield MT's were dry prior to adding water. Water was added to the cleanout at the end of the 2005 drainfield with the monitoring tube approximately 5 -6 -feet from the cleanout. 1,512 -gallons was added to this cleanout with the MT's in both trench remaining dry. An additional 1,050 -gallons was added to the 2005 drainfield with both MT's for both trenches remaining dry. Based upon my elevation shots, Both MT's extend to the bottom of the drianifelds. Based upon our discussion, it was agreed that the process of our presoak and septic adequacy test shows that the 2005 drainfield alone absorbed 1,050+ gallons on the day of our test and that this septic test procedure is acceptable for obtaining a COSA.
