Dear Mrs. Calloway:
The real property f£1ea tn our off£ca show that you
o~m Lot 12 and 16, Blk 3, Raymond Todrow Subd£vlslon.
An approw~d sewage disposal Bystem was Installed on
Lot 16, and part of Lot 1.7 on November 4, 1968, by
Mr. Dan B~ll, by permit gl~en to Mr. Howard Carruhh.
The sewage dieposal system on Lot 12 could not be
located a,a there was no one at home during both
visits tO the property and there is no evidence of
standpipes for the system. The sewer system on Lot
12 cannot be approved or disapproved u~til the office
obta£us the necessary info,marion as to its type and
location.

Enclosed is a oo.py of Greater Anchorage Area Borough Ordinance
No. 28-68 dealing with watez, pollution control and on-site
sewage d~sposal.
Neither the military nor the Ilealth Departnmnt is moving everybody
out of Eagle Riw~m.
The new (:ode requires that all sewage disposal facilities meet
certain standa~dl~. So~ e~ptions haw~ been given (page 3.?, C)
but the o~e doe~ specifically establish sept.ia t~ks as the mlnimum
allowable d,g~ee of t~eat~nt. The ~ode also al, finitely prohibits
the use of cesspools. I am su~ that you can u~de~stand the
necessity fo eliminating the practice of discharging maw, untreated
hum~ wastes into the gro~d. ~he septic t~k ~quiro~nt applies
to existing as well as new systems.
Our records ~how two requests for Military approval showing you as
the owner. Unfo~tunately, hat,hem She fomm~ nor your letter give
complete legal dsscriptionm of the property involved.
One application was ~ubmitted in June of 1968, by a Mrs. r4yers and
the other was submitted by a Mrs, Barnett. The application submitted
by Mrs. Myers wa~; approved; the form ~ndicatea a 1,O00 gallon septic
task and a log crib ~eepage pit. The application submitted by
M~s. Myers was disapproved as there was ~o evidence that a septic
~ank existed.
Please provide us with the legal descriptions of the property involved
and we will a~tempt to clear this matte~ up.

Dear Mr. Judkins:
I have rentals in Eagle River, Alaska which have always
been Military approved. I received a phone call last
night 'that the Military is making all Military families
move out of the Eagle River area due to an ordance that
was passed August 15, 1968; by the Boroguh.
Will you please advise me by return, mail what this ordance
is and why are they making the Military move?
I also understand that all places in Eagle River must have
septic tanks put in within one year. Please advise me of
the correct information on this matter, also. I called the
Greater Anchorage Borough and the girl advised me that you
only had to put in a septic tank if the cesspool was ove~
flowing or giving trouble°
I do not want to have to make a trip to Anchorage to find
out what is going on, but I must find out why the Military
can not rent out in Eagle River, I have one new home that
a Military couple is now living in and another is due to
move in but they advised me they couldn't due to this ordance.
My property is located on Coronado Drive & Dawn Street in
Eagle River.
May I please have an immediate reply to this letter.
