Per the owner, the drainfield (37 -years old) is in a state of failure. We are proposing to utilize the existing septic tank (installed in 2019) and install a new 4 -bedroom drainfield. One testhole was excavated on the property and the drainfield is designed within its 30 -foot radius. Comments regarding the design are as follows: 1. SOILS: See attached 2020 testhole data, by Garness Engineering Group, Ltd. which shows the soil classifications, percolation test and groundwater monitoring. As can be seen on the attached soil log, the percolation rate was less than 1 min/inch; however, the soils were visually deemed to be an SP material. We request that your department waive the requirement for a sieve analysis with the special provision that the MOA will be onsite for the inspections. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface water concerns. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: There are no topography concerns.
