The reported results described the performance of the system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test and separation distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational life of all wells and septic systems depend on the local soils condition, groundwater levels that may fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system. These conditions are outside the control of the evaluator of the system. Satisfactory test results do not guarantee future performance of the system, nor do they guarantee that there are no hidden defects or encroachments. GEG, LTD. can therefore not provide any warranty or future estimate of how long the system will continue to meet the operational requirements of the ADEC or MOA DSD. This inspection revealed an arsenic concentration of 19.2 micrograms per liter (ug/L) for the property's well water sample. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 10.0 ug/L for public drinking water systems. While private wells are not subject to this regulation, EPA standards are based on existing health information and can therefore be used to gauge the relative quality of water from private wells. Information on arsenic is available from the On -Site Water and Wastewater Program website (www.muni.or /og nsite) or at 343-7904. Je eyA.G CE -7953 c m ePoe.reM1 118 %'R O FE o The subject lot has a 3 bedroom house on it which is served by a private well and AWWU sewer. The results of the field investigation and adequacy test are summarized as follows: A. WELL: On the clay of our inspection (2/20/98) the static level was 35 feet below the top of the casing (B.T.C.). Water was pumped from the well at an average rate of 7.4 gpm for 120 minutes (888 gallons). The maximum drawdown attained was 43 feet B.T.C. (8 foot drop). After the pumping was stopped the well recovered completely in approximately 6 minutes. Based upon this data it was determined that the capacity of the well exceeds the Municipal requirements for a 3 bedroom house (450 gallons per day), and produces greater than 720 gallons in less than 4 hours (FHA financing requirement). B. SEPARATION DISTANCE FROM THE WELL TO AWWU SEWER MANHOLE: When AWWU installed the sewer line which serves Kramp S/D, they were granted approval fiom ADEC to install the sewer main 60 feet from the well, and the sewer manhole 75 feet from the well. Attached is a copy of AWWU's as -built drawing, which shows the well approximately 60 feet from the main, and approximately 70 feet fi-om the center of the manhole. We exposed the manhole lid, and measured the separation distance to well to be 64 feet. We were unable to find any documentation at AWWU reflecting that the existing separation distance was ever approved by ADEC. Since the subject encroachment was no fault of the property owner, it is reasonable to assume that AWWU should be responsible for obtaining the necessary waivers. The separation distance from the well on Lot 5, Block 3 Kramp is hereby waived to 60 feet to the sewer manhole on Northern Raven Drive and Trisha Avenue for the following reasons: There are waivers existing to the sewer line along Northern Raven Drive, including it's manholes, indicating special construction.
