Groundwater Monitoring Results
Dear Mr. Cross:
The testholes placed in the Fall of 1994 on the subject lot were
monitored from the date of installation until the present time to
determine the high groundwater elevation. The locations of the
testholes are shown on the attached Site Plan.
From the time of installation until late April all testholes remained
completely free of groundwater. In early May Testhole No. 2 was found
to have groundwater at a depth of 11'. By the end of May no
groundwater was measured. Similarly Testhole No. 8 had groundwater
in early May at a depth of 8.5'. It also had dried up by the end of May.
Testhole No. 5 was found to have groundwater in early May at a depth
of 7' and dry by the end of May.
In summary, the majority of the testholes remained dry during the
entire period of spring breakup. Those that were found with
groundwater had dried up by the end of May. The small amounts of
water found in the holes will not impact the ability to place septic
systems on these lots. Systems can be constructed which will easily
provide 4' of vertical separation from the bottom of the system to the
high groundwater elevation. ·
Sincerely,
Michael E. Anderson, P.E.

Water Availability Study
Dear Mr. Cross:
We have attempted to locate logs from wells on the lots surrounding the
proposed Kendall Subdivision to determine whether sufficient water would
be available to serve the new lots. We found that Lot 2 of Hawditt
Subdivision originally produced more than 2 gallons per minute. A recent
flow test, however, performed by Eagle River Engineering in May of 1991
indicated the well was producing approximately .3 gallons per minute. The
static water level had also dropped substantially from the original -125'
to nearly -280'.
The well log for Lot 1, Narina Subdivision indicates static water at -56'
and a production rate of 3 gallons per minute. No other information is
available concerning wells on adjacent lots. We note, however, wells are
in use on Lot 2, Narina Subdivision and Lot 1 of Hawditt Subdivision.
Production rates are unknown, but appear to be serving the needs of the
houses on the lots.
In summary, the shallow bedrock suspected to exist on Kendall Subdivision
may require the development of wells in excess of 300' to produce
sufficient water to serve the homes to be constructed. In addition,
production rates may be very Iow but should be sufficient to meet the
Municipal requirement of .108 gallons per minute per bedroom.
Sincerely,
Michael E. Anderson, P.E.
