3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development

4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing
Special Provisions: A percolation test, as identified on site plan, is to be completed prior to construction of the
drainfield to confirm application rate. If results require a design change, construction shall stop pending On-site
review and approval of a change order. Please submit results with inspection report.

Septic System Upgrade
Design Narrative
The owner would like to upgrade the septic system to 5-bedrooms.
The design calls for removal of the existing septic tank and installing a new 1500-gallon septic tank in the
same location.
The existing drainfield easily passed an adequacy test and will be lengthened to accommodate 5-
bedrooms. A percolation test at TH1 yielded a percolation rate of 13-MPI. Using an application rate of
0.8-gallons/sf, the drainfield extension was chosen to be a Wide Trench 5-feet wide by 34-feet long with
4-feet of effective depth and 4-feet of cover for a total depth of 8-feet.
The 5-bedroom alternate drainfield will use BioBarrier Membrane BioReactor advanced treatment with
an application rate of 23-gallons/sf for a drainfield size of 5-feet wide by 5-feet long with 4-feet of effective
depth.
Public water is located in the street (Baron Drive) and the water service enters the house from that side
of the property,which is the opposite side of the house from the septic system.
