On the basis of this investigation which consisted of three test borings, we conclude that the soils in the area of the existing seepage pit consist of very dense gravelly silts (Unified Class ML). These soils have very slow percolation rates requiring a seepage area of 275 square feet per bedroom. A test.boring near the southwest corner of the property revealed that the soils in that area are sandy with much lower silt content and, therefore, have superior percolation rates. We recommend that the sewage disposal facilities be constructed so as to provide 275 square feet of segpage area per bedroom if the same location is used. If relocated to the southwest corner of the property, 250 square feet of seepage area would be required.
