In response to your request, a test hole was placed 20 feet east
of the southwest corner on the south side of the house. The test
hole-was five feet from the wall.

The test hole was placed with a Mobile B-50 drill fitted with a ·
hollow-stem auger; samples were taken ai~ 1', 5', 6'~', and 10'
The'soils were examined in the field by an experienced tech-
nician and an appraisal of the soils' density/consistency was
formulated.

Based on this information, it is my opinion that the soils used
to found the structure are satisfactory with respect to bearing
provided the structure remains heated during the winter (this
is a standard recommendation).
We suggest that' area fine grading include a surface seal of silt
(top soil) about the structure to minimize melt water from entering
the disturbed soil mass about the footings (this is a standard
recommendati on).
We trust the foregoing is sufficient to your present needs.
