Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: Septic System Installation Permit 22705 Friendship Lane Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a septic system upgrade permit for the above referenced property. The existing septic system is backing up into the house and needs to be replaced. The proposed system will serve a 3 -bedroom single-family residence. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Cates: Groundwater observed at a depth of 4 feet below ground surface (10/9/2012). Soil Rating. From Test hole 10/2/2012 15 min/in = 0.5 gal per sq.ft/day No. of Bedrooms 3 Required Area per Bedroom: 150/ 0.5 =300 sq.ft. Total area required: 300 x 3 = 900 sgft System: We are proposing a 1250 gallon STEP tank followed by a mounded bed absorption field. The absorption field will be 60 feet long and 15 feet wide and contain 0.5 feet (900 sq.ft. effective) of sewer rock. Soils: A test hole was excavated on October 2"d, 2012. See the attached soil logs. No ground water was observed to a depth of 20 feet during excavation. Ground water depth was observed at 4 feet on October 9a', 2012. Monitoring will continue through construction of the septic system. Surface Water: There are no surface waters within one hundred feet of the proposed septic system upgrade.
