Ref: Proposed Septic Upgrade for Lake Hill Acres S/D, Addition 1; Lot 10A
To whom it may concern:
The existing 3 bedroom house is served by a private well and a private septic system. The septic system
consists of 1000 gallon septic tank a deep trench type drainfield. The drainfield is in a state of failure and
is need of being upgraded. A test hole was excavated for the purpose of upgrading the septic system. We
are proposing that a new 1000 gallon septic tank and dual deep trench type drainfields be installed within
the 30 foot radius of this test hole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications. groundwater monitoring, and the
percolation test results.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: The topography is shown on the attached design drawing and we have provided the
MOA Argis contour maps which shows the 1' contours. There is a drainage ditch along the Old Glenn
Highway that is about 6 feet deep and has no running or ponding water. Given the top of the distribution
lines will be approximately 4 feet below the existing grade and the existing drainfield is installed closer to
this ditch line with no indication of daylighting, the drainage ditch should pose no concern with this
installation (see cross section detail drawing. page 3 of 3).
4. DRAINFIELD TO DRAINFIELD WAIVER: In order to insure 12 foot separation distance from the new
drainfields to the existing drainfield on Lot 8A. we are requesting a 5 foot waiver from the new drainfields
to the existing drainfield onsite. The existing drainfield is to remain in place and we are proposing that a
flow director be installed to be able to direct the flow to either system. This will insure that only one
system is used at a time, either the new drainfields or the old drainfield. Based upon this information, we
do not see any adverse effects with the granting of this waiver.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.
