Lakeridge Dr. Box 10 Eagle River, AK 99577 Re: Percolation Test on Existing Disposal System Lots 8 & 9, Block 8, Lakeridge Terrace Subdivision Dear Mr. Quarne: on June 10, at your request, we conducted a percolation test of the septic system on the above described lot. For the test, 200 gallons of water were added to the system over a 42 - minute time period. The following table represents the level of liquid in the tank as water was added to the system. All measurements were taken from the top of the standpipe. SUMMARY OF MEASUREMENTS Level of Liquid Meter Reading Time Septic Tank In Gallons 0:00 6.3' 5208.3 (Initial) 0:04 6.25' 5233.3 0:42 6.25' 5408.3 (Final) The meter used during the test was a Rockwell 5/8" standard water meter which had previously been calibrated by R&M Consultants, Inc. Since the house on the lot concerned was occupied, it can be assumed that the leach field in question was at its normal degree of saturation. If it is assumed that the existing three bedroom residence will house six people, the average load on the disposal system can be expected to be 450 gallons per day or .3125 gallons per minute. After a slight initial rise the system accepted 175 gallons in 38 minutes, or 4.6 gallons per minute, without a change in liquid level. We conclude that the system is performing in an acceptable manner for a three-bedroom residence.
